The small parish church of Saint Matthias, Bellwoods, built in 1873, is on a large property on a side street just north of Queen Street West. When you enter this church you feel as though you have stepped back in time. The many years of faithful worship seem to have seeped into the very fabric of the building, giving a feeling of an inviting and holy place.
The parish community of St. Matthias carries on a welcoming, friendly and hospitable tradition. We are comprised of children and parents; young and old; able-bodied and disabled; employed and unemployed; married, single, divorced, straight and gay; all from the many diverse cultures that comprise this area of the city and beyond.
