By TTC:
You’ll want either the Queen 501 streetcar, or the Dundas 505 streetcar.
- Queen 501 going west: there is a Sunday stop at the base of Bellwoods; other days of the week, get off at Niagara Street and walk one block west — turn right on to Bellwoods.
- Queen 501 going east: there is a Sunday stop at Bellwoods; other days of the week, get off at Strachan Avenue, cross Queen, and walk two blocks east — turn left on to Bellwoods.
- Dundas 505 going west: your closest stop is Grace Street — cross Dundas, and walk back two blocks — turn right on to Bellwoods (south, if you’re interested).
- Dundas 505 going east: there actually is a stop right at Bellwoods (yay!) — walk south
By Car:
If you are coming along Queen Street West, Bellwoods Avenue is six blocks west of Bathurst Street and the second street east of Trinity-Bellwoods park (that big greenspace with the neat gates on your left). Turn north (up) on Bellwoods, and after two streets (Crocker Avenue and Robinson Street), you’ll see St. Matthias on your right.
Coming from Dundas Street West is a bit trickier, as Bellwoods runs one way toward it. Okay. Five blocks west of Bathurst, or five-ish blocks east of Shaw Street, there is Claremont Street (look for the 7-11 on the south-east corner). Turn south (down). Travel on Claremont to Robinson Street, turn right, and then right again on Bellwoods. St. Matthias is almost immediately on your right.
A note of caution to drivers — come early, parking is on the avenue and can be limited!
We have a verbal agreement with the Toronto Police Service that permits parking on the east side (right side) of Bellwoods Avenue during our Sunday services. There are parking notes available just inside our front entrance that can be placed on top of your vehicle’s dashboard indicating your attendance at one of our liturgies.
Winter snow conditions may limit or prevent parking on Bellwoods Ave. Queen Street has limited free parking until 1 p.m.
